In addition to assembling a creative ensemble of the highest professional quality, we rely on supporters like you to play a crucial role in helping to sustain our productions and educational programs at the highest level of excellence.
Volunteers
Volunteers are vital to the operation of Kelrik. Help is needed to make it possible for young audiences to experience the enchantment of theatre created especially for them.
Kelrik is looking for volunteers to work during performances throughout the season, and for assistance in the Box Office, on special events, and in the administrative offices. Times are flexible.
Some areas for volunteering are:
- Actors
- Set builders & painters
- Costume designer and/or seamstress
- Prop Master
- Lighting Designer and/or Operator
- House Manager
- Lighting Designer and/or Operator
- Sound Designer and/or Operator
- Follow spot Operator
- Stage Manager
- Assistant Director
- Ushers
- Box Office
Usher Program

Benefits of ushering:
- One complimentary ticket for every three ushering shifts!

Responsibilities of ushers:
- Black and white attire, preferably a white collared shirt and black pants or skirt
- Seat audience, distribute Playbills and Play Guides
- Assist audience members with special needs
- Assist audience to cry and restrooms during performance
- Understand evacuation procedures
- Ensure theatre is in order after performance
- Help make Kelrik performances a wonderful experience!
Volunteer ushers are a vital part of the Kelrik family. Ushering is also a great community service opportunity for groups. Volunteers learn the ins and outs of running a theatre while honing their interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
Ushers are needed for all Performances. Volunteer usher shifts begin 75 minutes prior to each show. (i.e., arrive @ 12:45 pm for a 2:00pm show.) Ushers must be at least 12 years old and are invited to watch our 1 hour performances in any available seat but arent required to stay.
